The Kansas City metro area's City of Independence, MO was the site of a charrette focusing on the design of a new residential neighborhood on a failing golf course. The charrette, lead by 180 design studio of Kansas City, was the forum for much discussion about the neighboring residents' strong concerns over the development of what has become over the last 50-plus years, a visual extension of many people's backyards.
